Outside Learning Environment
The Outdoor Learning Project
The project was centred on learning in the outside environment. Each of the five schools involved identified an area of the curriculum to be taught in the outside environment that will support personalised learning and challenge the able.
This project was funded by the TDA as part of the Partnership Development Programme.

AIMS OF THE PROJECT
- To develop trainees' experience in using the outside environment effectively through focused mentoring and observing best practice
- Raise trainees' and staff’s expertise in personalised learning and developing pupil’s contribution to their own learning
- To disseminate this practice to SEI region’s partnership by producing exemplification material (including planning, learning and assessment opportunities) and outreach training in other schools, working with trainees in Foundation Stage / KS1 / KS2
A conference for 180 delegates from 18 different schools and HE’s was organised to disseminate to others our project.
